Nxt Level, a leading AI-powered go-to-market platform, is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to set technical direction across the engineering organization in San Francisco. This senior IC will own the hardest decisions across product, platform, infrastructure, and AI-native systems, mentoring engineers and partnering with leadership to shape the product for years to come.

Qualifications

• Proven track record setting technical direction across an engineering organization.
• Experience shaping product or platform architecture across multiple teams.
• Deep distributed systems expertise with scale and cost tradeoffs.
• Strong judgment in ambiguous, high-stakes technical environments.
• Ability to align teams and senior leaders around architectural decisions.
• Experience multiplying senior engineers through design, mentorship, and leadership.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools and agentic engineering workflows.
• Clear perspective on how AI will transform engineering and product platforms.
• Strong communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Own technical direction for the company's most critical and ambiguous engineering problems.
• Make long-term architectural decisions across product, platform, distributed systems, and AI-native infra.
• Set strategy for rebuilding the platform around AI and agents.
• Translate strategy into actionable direction for engineering teams.
• Raise the bar through standards, patterns, architecture reviews, and decision-making.
• Mentor senior engineers and multiply organizational impact.
• Partner with engineering and product leadership on long-term direction.
• Use AI-assisted development and agents to move faster in design, investigation, and implementation.
• Define practices for adopting AI-native workflows across teams.
• Identify opportunities where AI reshapes product architecture and shipping speed.
