Job summary

Cotality is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer to lead the design, development, and testing of AI-native software solutions. This senior role provides technical leadership, mentors engineering teams, and drives excellence across the SDLC.

You will own end-to-end enablement initiatives, craft reusable patterns, and help scale internal AI tooling and platforms. Strong communication and architectural vision are essential for success in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in software development, with ability to lead technical initiatives across teams.
• Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
• Experience designing and implementing scalable systems across applications, platforms, or tooling.
• Strong programming skills across multiple languages and stacks; comfortable across frontend, backend, infrastructure.
• Experience driving adoption of new tools, practices, or platforms across engineering orgs.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and workflows (GitHub Copilot, LLM APIs, agent frameworks).
• Ability to provide technical leadership through architectural guidance, code reviews, and pairing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of AI-native transformation initiatives across engineering teams.
• Serve as a senior technical enablement resource across engineering teams.
• Own the enablement lifecycle: readiness assessments, AGENTS.md authoring, skill architecture.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted SDLC practices and agent workflows.
• Architect reusable enablement patterns and reference implementations.
• Lead the development of internal AI tooling and platforms: SDKs, integrations.
• Bridge gaps between platform capabilities and team needs, designing technical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership through architectural guidance, code reviews, and pairing.
• Operate across the full SDLC—from requirements to delivery—ensuring enablement touches all phases.
