Job summary

FactSet Research Systems is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to design, build, and ship AI-powered products. You will lead development of LLM-based and agentic systems, set engineering standards, and mentor other engineers.

You will work across disciplines to ensure scalable, reliable AI solutions that meet client needs. You will drive architectural excellence, stay current with advances in LLMs and agent frameworks, and contribute to the long-term AI strategy across product and platform

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of software development, testing, and deployment experience.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and agentic technologies.
• Experience with prompt engineering, RAG, function/tool calling.
• Familiar with AI development lifecycle and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship production-grade LLM and agentic applications.
• Lead testing, CI/CD, and operational readiness.
• Build and maintain evaluation frameworks, guardrails, and monitoring.
• Prototype rapidly and harden solutions for production.
• Lead reviews and mentor engineers on applied AI patterns.
