Job summary

FactSet Research Systems Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to design, build, and ship AI-powered products leveraging large language models and agentic technologies.

You will lead engineering standards, mentor teams, and drive production-grade features from prototype to deployment. You will collaborate across product and platform teams, ensure safety and quality, and evolve AI tooling and workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
• 8–10+ years of building, testing and deploying stable software.
• Experience with LLMs and agentic technologies (prompt engineering, RAG, tool calling).
• Familiarity with ClaudeCode and AI-driven development lifecycle.
• Strong software architecture, scalable and observable systems.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and deploy AI-powered software including multi-step agents.
• Lead code/design reviews and mentor engineers on AI patterns.
• Define AI development standards and guardrails.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers on scope and tradeoffs.
• Diagnose AI-specific issues including non-determinism and hallucinations.
