Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer to join a fast-paced DDAT architecture team. You will lead strategic technical initiatives across value streams, shaping cloud-native platforms and AI-driven healthcare experiences for hundreds of millions of consumers.

You will partner with product, engineering, and platform teams to design scalable architectures, implement modern patterns like microservices and micro-frontend approaches, and ensure secure handling of PII/PHI data.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Software Industry experience.
• 7+ years of experience leading enterprise-scale solution design and technical architecture initiatives across multiple value streams.
• 7+ years hands-on experience with Java, Python, Node.js, Angular, and ReactJS.
• 5+ years of experience designing cloud-native, microservices-based solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• 5+ years of experience designing RESTful APIs that enhance user experience and simplify systems integration.
• 5+ years’ experience with micro-services architecture and designing RESTful APIs that facilitate a superior UX or simplify systems integration.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline; Master's degree is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation guidance on reference architectures ensuring best-in-class user experiences.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, lead POC initiatives, and develop architectural recommendations.
• Develop solutions that are well engineered, resilient, and deliverable on schedule.
• Author technical documentation and architectural guidelines for developers.
• Mentor architects and engineers, fostering technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Define and validate Non-Functional Requirements including performance, scalability, availability, and security.
