Job summary

AbbVie Inc. is seeking a Principal Data Engineer, AI Enablement to design and maintain data solutions powering AI and ML use cases across the pharma value chain.

You will work with data engineers, scientists, architects, and analysts to advance core data capabilities and promote continuous improvement. You will lead the design and deployment of AI-ready data platforms, including integration of LLMs for data mining, knowledge extraction, and automation of data-driven insights, while ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related work experience or higher degrees with adjusted years.
• Experience with MLOps, LLM integration, Data Agents, Agentic Memory and Graph RAG systems.
• Proficiency in designing data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes and data models.
• Strong Python and SQL skills; experience with distributed processing (Spark).
• Knowledge of CI/CD, data quality controls, governance and security considerations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable AI-ready data solutions.
• Design, develop and maintain scalable data solutions for diverse datasets in pharma value chain.
• Implement and operationalize ML models with deployment, monitoring and lifecycle management.
• Model data requirements for graph analytics, semantic reasoning and GenAI integration.
• Evaluate tools/frameworks for graph databases, vector stores and large language model integration.
