Job summary

BMC Software, Inc. seeks a Principal Outbound Product Manager for AI and agentic automation within the Digital Business Automation portfolio.

You will shape market strategy for AI offers in Control-M and new agentic products, drive adoption, and coordinate with engineering, marketing, sales and customer teams. You will lead target definitions, positioning, and go-to-market plans; craft compelling demonstrations; and guide pilots to production, ensuring governance, trust and value delivery across

Qualifications

• 10+ years in enterprise software across product management, outbound product management, technical product marketing, presales or solutions roles.
• Ownership of an externally sold enterprise AI or agentic offering beyond demonstrations, through customer pilots to production adoption.
• Familiarity with large language models, retrieval and grounding, tool use and agent workflows; ability to discuss quality, costs, latency and trust tradeoffs to buyers.

Responsibilities

• Define target segments, buyer and user personas, and priority use cases for assigned AI offers; build value hypotheses and business cases with customers.
• Own differentiated positioning and competitive insight for AI offers; explain what the product can do today, its maturity, deployment requirements and limits, without overclaiming.
• Lead launch and market-readiness plans with product and cross-functional teams; align use-case story, reference architectures, demonstrations, and sales assets.
• Build demonstrations with architects and AI engineering; equip sellers and partners with discovery guides and hands-on training.
• Recruit and support design partners and early-access customers; define pilot criteria, evaluation methods, and production readiness gates.
• Drive the path from pilot to production with customer success and delivery teams; identify barriers and build repeatable adoption playbooks.
• Explain permissions, governance, evaluation and failure modes; help customers understand needed oversight.
• Support strategic customers and opportunities through discovery and executive discussions; translate insights into recommendations for inbound product management.
• Provide market input into packaging, pricing and commercialization; test usage economics where relevant.
• Measure adoption and market readiness; share learnings across the portfolio and mentor peers.
