Job summary

OutSystems is seeking a Principal AX Designer to pioneer agentic experience, defining how AI agents navigate the platform while keeping human oversight clear and trustworthy.

You will lead AX design across the lifecycle, mentor designers, align with product, AI, and research teams, and shape agent-first standards that scale across the enterprise.

This role sits at the frontier of UX, UAX, and AX, enabling the world’s first agent-operable development platform.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in UX or product design.
• Experience designing for complex B2B SaaS or platform products.
• Strong foundation in systems thinking, information architecture, and semantic design.
• Experience building operating models and conceptual design.
• Experience cross-functional leadership with design, engineering, product mgmt, AI/ML.
• Experience with full design lifecycle in Agile environments.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Design the Agent Interface Layer to make inter-agent communication intuitive.
• Lead the AX design lifecycle from model to learn and version control.
• Define operability gates for determinism, safety, observability, recoverability, economics.
• Build evaluation frameworks: golden tasks, regression sets, adversarial scenarios.
• Design for Interactive, Supervised, and lights-out oversight modes.
• Bridge UX, UAX, and AX with journey maps and trust per operation.
• Shape strategy, establish AX design standards, and evangelize agent-first thinking.
• Mentor a team of designers through the UX-to-AX transition and drive reskilling.
