Amazon Advertising LLC's Measurement Science team seeks a Principal Applied Scientist for Ads Measurement. You will guide a team of scientists across ML, causal inference, NLP, and GenAI to advance performance measurement and enable advertisers to optimize their media portfolios.

This role leads research, develops scalable modeling solutions, mentors junior engineers, and partners with product managers and engineers to ship measurable, impact-driven features for ads across Amazon.

Formación

• 7+ years of hands-on work in predictive modeling and analysis.
• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• Experience distilling informal customer requirements into problem definitions, dealing with ambiguity and competing objectives.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience leading experienced scientists as well as having a record of developing junior members from academia or industry to a career track in a business environment

Responsabilidades

• Driving the scientific vision of the teams in your organization and you advise and influence its technical leadership on performance measurement models and products.
• Identifying, tackling, and proposing innovative solutions to intrinsically hard, previously unsolved problems.
• Bringing clarity to complex problems, probing assumptions, illuminating pitfalls, fostering shared understanding, and guiding towards effective solutions.
• Serving and being recognized by internal and external peers as a thought leader in modeled measurement in Ads.
• Leading by example, with your papers, analyses, and code setting the standard in your organization for scientific engineering excellence.
• Leading science and design reviews, aligning teams across your organization around coherent algorithmic strategies.
• Influencing your team’s science and business strategy by driving one or more team roadmaps contributing to the organization’s roadmap and taking responsibility for some organizational goals.
• Guiding the career development of others, actively mentoring and educating the larger applied science community on trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Staying abreast of academic and industry trends, knowing the state of the art, and building on top of existing solutions instead of reinventing when possible.
