Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Principal Accounting Manager to own accounting policy, controls, and reporting for AWS Supply Chain leasing and financing initiatives.

You will partner with Finance, Treasury, Tax, Legal, FP&A, and Tech to stand up new frameworks, drive system implementations, and ensure compliance with relevant standards. This role emphasizes analytics, accuracy, and cross-functional leadership.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of finance technology, forecast & budgeting, or other finance-focused competency experience.
• 12+ years of finance, accounting, or related analytical field experience.
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, tax, economics, or a related analytical field.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end accounting lifecycle for AWS Infrastructure and leasing financing transactions.
• Lead the implementation of ASC 842 (Leases) accounting procedures for new lease structures.
• Design and execute accounting processes in Amazon systems for lease origination, modification, termination.
• Develop and maintain lease and financing accounting models, including PV calculations and classifications.
• Partner with Treasury, Tax, Legal, FP&A, Finance, Business and Tech to evaluate new financing structures.
• Design, implement, and maintain SOX-compliant internal controls over leasing and financing.
• Prepare and review technical accounting memos for complex arrangements like sale-leaseback.
• Own monthly close activities for the leasing and financing portfolio and disclosures.
• Lead cross-functional projects to stand up new leasing and financing programs.
• Identify and drive process improvements and automation to scale operations.
