Job summary

L3Harris is seeking a Principal Accountant/Assistant Sector Controller to drive financial reporting for the Maritime Sector across seven international units. The role requires partnering with program managers and financial leaders to ensure timely close and compliant reporting.

The position involves coordinating monthly, quarterly and annual close cycles, supporting audits (DCAA, statutory, US GAAP), and leading process improvements within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 12 years of accounting experience with Bachelor’s or 10 years with Master’s with comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley requirements
• In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of prior related experience
• Experience in monthly, quarterly, and annual close with tight deadlines
• Experience with complex ERP environments and reporting systems
• Experience with internal and external audits

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with business and financial leaders across the sector
• Coordinate, communicate and track financial reporting requirements and deliverables for the Maritime Sector to ensure on-time delivery
• Coordinate and review financial reporting deliverables for Maritime’s 7 international business units during monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles
• Partner with Program Managers to review Estimates at Completion on contracts
• Lead process design, improvements, and other special projects
• Support internal and external audits including DCAA and US GAAP audits
