Job summary

Kroger Co. is seeking a department leader in Novi, MI to support primetime operations and drive sales while ensuring a great customer experience.

You will work with store and department leadership to build a high-performance culture and train associates to deliver the Kroger standard of Every Customer, Every Time. Responsibilities include achieving performance goals, managing replenishment, merchandising, promotions, safety, and inventory processes.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral/written communication skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Establish department performance goals and empower associates to meet or exceed targets.
• Ensure orders are put up in a timely manner and replenishing throughout the day.
• Train and develop associates on their job performance and participate in the performance appraisal process.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Inform customers of produce specials and offer product samples to help discover new items.
• Ensure merchandising standards are followed; review/inspect products for quality and freshness.
• Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
• Inform and educate department associates about current and upcoming promotions affecting the department.
• Ensure in-stock behaviors are being executed daily.
• Implement the period promotional plan for the department.
• Ensure temperature controls and cleanliness in backrooms and prep areas.
• Adhere to safety programs and report safety risks and incidents.
