Job summary

Valence is seeking a paint technician for the Seattle, WA area to operate in a 3rd shift schedule (Sun-Thurs, 9pm–5:30am). You will mix and measure paint to spec, inspect parts, and apply coatings to a variety of surfaces in a controlled booth environment.

Responsibilities include ensuring quality through inspection, maintaining PPE, and keeping the booth and equipment in top condition. On-the-job training is provided, prior experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (Required)
• Experience: 1+ year of relevant experience
• Must be able to train in other shifts before going to assigned scheduled shift

• Mix and measure paint per specifications.
• Review work order and confirm mixed paint and part match before painting in booth.
• Clean parts per specification and paint parts according to spec and thickness.
• Keep paint booth filters changed, booth FOD free and complete paperwork.
• Post paint inspection of parts for appearance and proper coverage.
• Able to paint effectively on different surfaces and metals.
• Observe safety regulations and wear PPE during spray painting operations.
• Maintain all paint equipment.

Job Overview

Reports to: Paint Supervisor

Location: Seattle, WA

Schedule: 3rd shift Sun - Thurs 9pm - 5:30am

Job Summary

• Must be able to mix and measure paint per specifications.
• Review work order and confirm mixed paint and part match, prior to painting in booth
• Clean parts as per specification Paint part according to specification and thickness
• Keep paint booth filters changed, booth FOD free and complete paperwork.
• Post paint inspection of parts for appearance and proper coverage.
• Able to paint effectively on different surfaces and metals
• Applies some advanced skills that allow employee to adapt and meet some complex or non-routine situations
• Observe safety regulations and wear protective masks and clothing during spray painting operations.
• Complete the paint daily checklist.
• Properly utilizes all PPE required under OSHA Guidelines.
• Maintains all paint equipment.
• Other duties as assigned

Work Environment

Temperatures in the work environment can fluctuate with outside weather conditions. Due to the manufacturing environment, Personal Protection Equipment may be required including safety glasses, goggles, aprons, rubber boots, gloves, and a respirator (provided by Company).
