Job summary

EK is seeking an experienced paint supervisor to oversee the paint line and batch department on a newly created 3rd shift. You will supervise daily work, ensure safety, and drive continuous improvement while aligning with customer packaging requirements.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and hands-on experience with manufacturing software and line automation. On-site position with growth opportunities within the department.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three to five years related experience.
  • Experience using computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Manufacturing Software.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises paint department operations; directs daily work schedules and coordinates with Paint Manager.
  • Ensures safety procedures are followed and equipment is operated safely.
  • Maintains and updates the paint line automation system and monitors consumables.
  • Monitors production and reporting to Paint Supervisor; ensures productivity and quality goals.
  • Trains and mentors new and existing employees within the department.

Job description

Are you an experienced paint professional looking to get in on the ground floor and supervise a paint line and batch department on a newly created 3rd shift? This is the position for you.

Summary

Supervises paint department operations; ensures efficient completion of jobs through use of computer applications. Plans and directs the work of shipping/receiving and paint employees ensuring finished parts meet customer packaging requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Helps maintain Job time keeping in manufacturing software and entering and managing barcode information.
  • Works with Paint Manager and Paint Lead to create daily work schedules.
  • Makes sure all Safety procedures and being followed and paint department employees are working safely.
  • Ensures that employees are following instructions in paint line automation system. Maintains and updates system as needed.
  • Monitors consumables levels to assure efficiency.
  • Monitors daily production and system operations and reports information to Paint Supervisor and Paint Manager.
  • Responsible for meeting department and company productivity and quality goals.
  • Assists Paint Manager with other duties, as needed.
  • Helps train and mentor new employees and existing employees when advancing them within the department.
  • Meets all yearly company and department goals.
  • Come up with CI improvement ideas every year and promote CI ideas within the department.
  • Ensures packaging meets E.K. Machine standards as well as customers packaging specifications.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Develops Paint Department staff, mentor, and provide training.
  • Motivates Paint Department staff, individually and as a group.
  • Understands and supports cross-training opportunities.
  • Establishes an effective team.
  • Ensures visual system is being used and updated as needed.

Education And/Or Experience

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training and a High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience using computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Manufacturing Software.

Language Skills

Ability to communicate as a leader of a team. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and memos, as well as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write correspondence.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
