Hytek Finishes in Kent, WA is seeking an Aerospace Drylube/10-85 Painter for the 3rd shift. This non-exempt, full-time role involves masking, paint mixing, and applying dry-lube per specifications. You will work with a team to ensure quality and productivity, with a comprehensive benefits package and 3rd shift schedule.

Eligible candidates should have 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, the ability to pass pre-employment tests, and be able to obtain/maintain a U.S. work authorization.

Qualifications

  • Pre-employment and annual physical exam required; ability to wear a respirator.
  • Must have a regular and dependable attendance record.
  • Ability to Read/Write Communicate in English.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. An export license may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan the production for the shift by analyzing what parts are to be painted and coordinating flow to maximize quality and productivity.
  • Receive parts to be painted from paint assistant or coordinator and verify processes.
  • Work with Paint Assistants and other Painters to complete work and prioritize tasks.
  • Follow shop traveler, technique card, customer Purchase Orders, and instructions from experienced Operators and Leads.
  • Mix paints to specifications.
  • Paint parts with the described thickness and verify with an Isoscope.
  • Move racks between staging area and oven.
  • Review paperwork and notify supervisor/QA of errors.
  • Prepare parts prior to operations and cleaning as required.
  • Perform inspection, measuring, and testing of painted surfaces as required.
  • Maintain paint guns/booths and ensure cleanliness.

Job Overview

Title: Aerospace Drylube/10-85 Painter – 3rd Shift

Reports to: Shift Supervisor or Value Stream Manager

Location: Kent, WA – onsite

Type: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

Schedule Type: 3rd Shift, Training on 1st Shift

Hytek production is open 24 hours per day. Normal Shifts are as follows: 1st shift (Monday – Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (Monday – Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.), 3rd shift (Sunday – Friday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.)

Salary Range for position:

$ 22.10 – 25.10.

Position Summary

Employees in this position will apply a variety of maskants to parts in preparation for Dry-Lube/10-85 paint application. Maskers may be required to join the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program* Maskers perform operations in accordance with Military and OEM specifications.

* FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requires an initial pre-employment drug test including a screen for THC, subject to quarterly Drug & BAT testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plans the production for the shift by analyzing what parts are to be painted and coordinating the flow of parts to maximize quality and productivity. Assigns tasks to lower-level employees in the department.
  • Receives parts to be painted from paint assistant or coordinator. Verifies what processes are to be completed.
  • Work closely with Paint Assistants and other experienced Painters and Department Leads to complete work and prioritize tasks.
  • Follow shop traveler, technique card, customer Purchase Orders, and instructions from experienced Operators and Department Leads.
  • Mixes paint to specifications.
  • Paints parts with the appropriate thickness as described on the specifications. Verifies paint thickness using an Isoscope.
  • Paints by using the best technique to maximize quality and productivity.
  • Moves racks or parts between the staging area and oven.
  • General review of paperwork to ensure all previous operations were completed. Notify supervisor and Quality Assurance if any errors.
  • Prepare parts prior to operations including mechanical or chemical cleaning.
  • Prepare parts as called out in Purchase Orders and Tech Cards.
  • Perform inspection, measuring, and testing or part surfaces as required.
  • Maintain paint guns and paint booths ensuring cleanliness at the close of shifts.
  • Perform pre and post cleaning surface finish requirements.
  • Follow Quality Assurance requirements.
  • Follow safety precautions as trained.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
  • 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment a plus.

  • Temperature fluctuations based on outdoor conditions.
  • PPE required: safety glasses/goggles, aprons, rubber boots, gloves, respirator (provided by company).
