Job summary

The Southwest National Primate Research Center (SNPRC) at Texas Biomedical Research Institute in San Antonio, TX, seeks an enthusiastic individual to coordinate and document socialization of nonhuman primates. You will work with the Behavioral Services group on behavior, management, and related topics, and contribute to intramural and extramural education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, anthropology, biology, or related fields.
• At least 1 year of applicable animal experience.
• Experience with nonhuman primates preferred.
• Ability to lift and move 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working with infectious agents and hazardous chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee nonhuman primate socialization.
• Plan, execute, monitor, and document socialization events.
• Maintain socialization records in a computerized database.
• Prepare and present seminars on primate behavior and socialization.
• Contribute to research projects on primate behavior and management.
• Refine methodologies related to socialization and behavioral management.
