Job summary

Inotiv is seeking a Behavior Technician to implement and improve enrichment plans for nonhuman primates, collaborating with veterinary and behavioral teams. You will assess new arrivals, assist with socializations, monitor groups, and document outcomes to ensure high standards of animal care.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent experience, strong communication skills, and comfort working in varied environments including extreme temperatures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
• A combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Regularly conduct behavioral assessments of newly arrived and colony animals.
• Assist with socializations into pairs or groups and document related activities.
• Monitor social and breeding groups and maintain records.
• Identify abnormal behaviors and implement enrichment plans.
• Develop shaping plans to prepare animals for procedures.
• Collaborate with veterinary and care staff to maintain proper animal care standards.
• Propose new socialization strategies and enrichment ideas.
