Job summary

Inotiv seeks a senior-level professional to implement environmental enrichment plans for nonhuman primates and lead breeding program strategies that support animal welfare and client expectations.

You will work closely with veterinary and care staff to maintain high standards of care, conducting temperament tests and behavior observations while coordinating enrichment and training plans using positive reinforcement methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; combination with experience may be considered.
• AALAS LATG certification preferred.
• At least 8 years professional experience with old-world primate species.

Responsibilities

• Implement and improve the environmental enhancement plan for nonhuman primates.
• Promote psychological well-being and manage the macaque breeding program.
• Develop breeding strategies and manage social groups (e.g., harems, juvenile or all-female groups).
• Conduct temperament assessments and routine behavioral observations for social cohorts and breeding groups.
• Coordinate enrichment plans with the Enrichment Team and document effectiveness.
• Assist with infant Foster-Mentor Program and placement of orphans back into the colony.
