Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a motivated Primary Intervention Assistant to work across welcoming Durham schools. You’ll support pupils needing extra time, encouragement and attention to close learning gaps and build confidence.

Ideal candidates include graduates, aspiring teachers or tutors with a background in supporting children. The role involves running 1:1 and small-group activities and tracking progress alongside teachers.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with reading, phonics and literacy development.
• Ability to support maths catch-up sessions and numeracy skills.
• Comfort delivering 1:1 and small-group activities to diverse learners.
• Strong commitment to tracking progress and celebrating achievements.
• Friendly, patient and positive attitude with children.

Responsibilities

• Support reading and phonics interventions.
• Help pupils develop writing, spelling and literacy skills.
