Job summary

Dayton VA Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse for Primary Care. The RN will provide direct and indirect patient care in a VA clinic, assess needs, plan and implement nursing measures, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities include medication administration, IV therapy, EHR documentation, patient education, and discharge planning.

This is a future opportunity with ongoing staffing needs to support our Primary Care services at the Dayton, Ohio facility.

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license and BLS certification.
• ACLS certification preferred for acute care settings.
• Minimum 1 year of direct patient care within last 3 years; VA experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care in a VA clinical setting.
• Assess patients, determine priorities, and plan evidence-based care.
• Administer medications and IV therapies; monitor responses.
• Document care in the patient’s medical record and CPRS EHR.
• Educate patients and families on medications and procedures.
• Communicate with physicians and nursing staff; participate in discharge planning.
