Job summary

The Joseph Maxwell Cleland Atlanta VA Healthcare System is seeking a Primary Care Physician to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care across a VA network of clinics in Georgia. The role emphasizes preventive care, chronic disease management, and coordination with specialists within the VA system.

Board-certified or eligible physicians with active medical licensure, strong communication skills, and a commitment to veteran care are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an approved school.
• Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S.
• Residency training approved by VA leading to board certification.
• English proficiency in spoken and written form.
• Preferred board-certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Osteopathic Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary-care services for a panel of patients in VA facilities.
• Conduct examinations, document notes per policy, and perform preventive care.
• Evaluate unscheduled patients, order tests, and coordinate specialty referrals.
• Collaborate with team, meet performance measures, and supervise trainees if needed.
