Job summary

The Greater Sacramento area community health center is seeking a full-time Family Practice or Internal Medicine physician to join its outpatient team. This role offers Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or a 4‑day, 10‑hour shift option, with compensation of $231,000–$300,000 annually based on experience.

You will provide comprehensive, patient‑centered care, perform histories and exams, order and interpret tests, prescribe therapies, coordinate referrals, and document in the electronic health record.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• 2+ years post residency experience; no new grads.
• Active, unrestricted California medical license.
• Community health center or FQHC experience preferred.
• Bilingual English and Russian, Spanish, Farsi, or Pashto preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient medical care within scope of practice.
• Perform history and physical exams, develop differential diagnoses, and create treatment plans.
• Order and interpret laboratory, imaging, and diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe medications and initiate appropriate therapies.
• Coordinate referrals and specialty consultations when indicated.
• Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate patient education.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to ensure integrated care delivery.
• Maintain productivity standards while delivering high-quality care.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
• Review and sign clinical reports (labs, consults, imaging) promptly.
• Submit billing and coding documentation in a timely manner.
• Participate in continuing education and maintain all required licensure and certifications.
