Job summary

UNM Medical Group, Inc. in Rio Rancho, NM seeks a Patient Services Coordinator for our Family Medicine Primary Care clinic.

This full-time day-shift role (Mon-Fri, 7:30am-4:30pm) supports patient access by scheduling appointments, handling receptionist duties, and verifying demographic and insurance information. You will manage referrals and prior authorizations with insurance carriers, address patient concerns, and act as liaison between patients and providers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; higher education substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Preferred: minimum of two years of experience in health insurance eligibility and benefits verification.
• Experience with patient scheduling and front-desk responsibilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments, perform receptionist duties, and verify demographic and insurance information.
• Manage referrals and prior authorizations with insurance carriers to ensure smooth patient service.
• Assist with patient concerns and complaints, acting as liaison between patients, physicians, and other providers.
