Upperline Health is seeking a Primary Care Medical Assistant to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a value-based practice. In our clinic, you will room patients, obtain medical history and vital signs, and support care coordination to keep patients healthier between visits.

The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, with CMA/MA certification or two years’ primary care experience, and comfortable working at the top of scope in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant or minimum of two years’ experience in primary care
• MA or phlebotomy certification strongly preferred
• EMR experience preferred; AthenaHealth ideal
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and basic pharmacology
• Experience with team-based care models
• Care coordination or case management experience preferred
• Experience with adult and geriatric patients preferred
• EMR experience preferred; AthenaHealth ideal
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
• Strong customer service orientation and communication skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Room patients; obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints
• Assist providers with in-clinic visits and health assessments
• Support virtual provider encounters from the clinic setting
• Accurately document clinical data in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Perform medication reconciliation and identify discrepancies
• Conduct telephonic outreach to coordinate preventive and ongoing care
• Manage in-basket messages, prescription refills, and prior authorizations
• Support referrals, scheduling, records, and DME coordination
• Assist patients with accessing community resources
• Prepare and maintain clinical equipment and supplies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
• Participate in team huddles and meetings
• Perform clinical tasks within scope (injections, phlebotomy, POCT)
• Perform other duties as assigned
