Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's AHN/Optum site in Indianapolis is seeking a Medical Assistant for a primary care role. You will prepare rooms, take health histories, check vital signs, perform EKGs, injections, and assist with in-office procedures, supporting clinicians in a busy family medicine office.

The position requires CMA/RMA certification or intent to obtain within 9 months, with preference for NextGen EMR experience and full front-/back-office duties. Competitive hourly pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant CMA or RMA certification or willingness to attain within 9 months.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment.
• Room patients, obtain health history, check vital signs and perform EKGs.
• Administer injections and collect specimens.
• Document patient care using NextGen EMR software.
• Schedule appointments, complete prior authorizations, process medication refills, handle referrals.
• Assist physicians and nurses with minor in-office procedures.
