Job summary

Optum is hiring a Medical Assistant in Indiana. You will prepare exam rooms, room patients, take vitals, perform EKGs, administer injections, and collect specimens using NextGen/EPIC EMR systems.

Ideal candidates will have CMA or RMA certification (or willingness to obtain within 9 months), and experience with EMR systems and front/back-office duties. Salary is hourly with benefits, based on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• CMA or RMA certification or willing to attain within 9 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment.
• Room patients, take health history, check vitals and perform EKGs.
• Administer injections and collect specimens.
• Document patient care using EMR software.
• Schedule appointments, handle prior authorizations, prescriptions, and referrals.
• Assist physicians and NPs with minor in-office procedures.
