Job summary

UnitedHealth Group AHN/Optum Peru, IN is seeking a Medical Assistant to support a family medicine team. You’ll prepare exam rooms, take history and vitals, perform EKGs, administer injections, and assist with in-office procedures.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, CMA/RMA certification (or willingness to obtain within 9 months), and EMR/EHR experience. Epic experience and front/back-office duties are preferred. Benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED equivalent.
• Medical Assistant Certification CMA or RMA or willing to attain within 9 months.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment.
• Room patients, obtain health history, check vital signs and perform EKGs.
• Administer injections and collect specimens.
• Document patient care using NextGen EMR.
• Schedule appointments; handle referrals, prior authorizations, and paperwork.
• Assist physicians with in-office procedures.
