Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education or experience to meet required competencies.
• Completed Medical Assistant program or comparable healthcare education program with similar clinical training.
• Fewer than six months MA experience must have completed at least 160 hours of clinical externship or practicum.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: at least one of the listed options (BLS, CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAA).

Responsibilities

• Room patients, manage patient flow and obtain medical information/data.
• Collect and document patient information via interview, questionnaires, vital signs in EMR.
• Assist with exam preparation and provide psycho-emotional support as needed.
• Assist with specimen collection, labeling and processing; obtain lab/imaging results.
• Work with EMR inbox and respond to messages as directed by RN or provider.
• May cover front desk tasks and assist with patient registration/scheduling.
• Perform injections and assist with procedures; reinforce care instructions.
• Coordinate test results with provider; prepare refill information for review.
