Allina Health Buffalo Clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant (Primary Care) for a 1.0 FTE daytime role in Buffalo, MN. The position supports providers and nursing staff, handling patient flow, rooming, injections, specimen handling, and EMR communications.

Qualifications include completion of a Medical Assistant program, MA experience preferred, and BLS or CMA/ RMA certification options. A $2,000 starting bonus is available for eligible external hires.

Formación

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required principle competencies as listed on the job description
• Candidates must have completed a Medical Assistant program or a comparable healthcare education program with a similar scope of clinical training
• Candidates with fewer than six (6) months of Medical Assistant experience must have completed a minimum of 160 hours of clinical externship or equivalent clinical practicum

Responsabilidades

• Rooms patients, manages patient flow and obtains adequate patient medical information/data.
• Collects and confirms pt information via interview, questionnaires, vital signs and accurately documents in EMR according to documentation standards.
• Assists patients, as necessary, to prepare for physician exam, including providing psycho-emotional support
• Assists with the collection, labeling, and processing of specimens.
• Facilitates obtaining lab/imaging results.
• Works with the electronic medical records in basket, responding to messages as delegated by RN or provider.
• May need to help cover front desk and provide backup to patient registration/scheduling.
• Performs patient care tasks as delegated by Provider or RN
• Performs injections.
• Assists with procedures.
• Supports patient care and reinforces patient information regarding tests, labs, procedure preparation, treatment plan, preventative or other health information.
• Coordinates results of tests, procedures etc. with provider or RN.
• May prepare refill information for provider to review and prescribe.
• May assist with patient transportation.
