Job summary

Allina Health Richfield Clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and nursing staff in delivering timely care. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vitals, EMR documentation, injections, specimen collection, and assisting with procedures in a 8-hour daytime schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience to meet competency requirements.
• Completed Medical Assistant program or comparable healthcare education with clinical training.
• Fewer than 6 months MA experience requires at least 160 hours of clinical externship or practicum.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and manage patient flow.
• Collect patient information, vitals, and document in EMR.
• Assist with exam prep and provide psycho-emotional support.
• Collect, label, and process specimens; obtain lab/imaging results.
• Work with EMR in-basket and respond to messages delegated by RN or provider.
• May cover front desk and assist with patient registration/scheduling.
• Perform injections and assist with procedures as delegated by provider/RN.
• Convey test/treatment information and coordinate test results with providers.
