Job summary

Banner Health’s Sunrise Office in Tucson is hiring a Medical Assistant to support clinicians with exams, vital signs, minor procedures, immunizations, and clerical duties. The role covers multiple clinic sites in the area with a dynamic, patient‑focused team.

The position requires completion of an approved MA program, active MA certification, BLS, and strong computer skills. The workweek is typically Mon–Fri, with a day shift from 7:00am to 6:00pm and opportunities to float to nearby clinics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent
• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations
• Active Medical Assistant Certification is required
• BLS certification required
• Strong computer skills and the ability to work with medical software
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an organized fashion
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at hire for certain Banner Health locations

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for exam by taking vital signs and recording complaints
• Assist providers with exams and minor in-office procedures
• Coordinate patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling
• Provide clerical support and ensure accurate billing information
• Maintain clean, safe exam rooms and sterilize equipment
• Order supplies and manage medication recalls
• Develop effective communication with patients and staff
• Complete onboarding/orientation activities as needed
• Interact with multiple stakeholders to support patient care and safety
