Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Dublin, OH seeks a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care under supervision of providers and nurses. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vitals, reviewing histories, drawing blood, and performing injections and EKGs.

EPIC experience is preferred; local Ohio scope of practice applies. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with medical experience or completion of a medical assistant program; certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with related medical experience, or graduate with health degree; MA program preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certification or Registration preferred, or EMT/EMT-P or Military Medical CorpsTRAINING preferred.
• 1–2 years medical assisting experience preferred; or 2–3 years medical office experience in lieu of education.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required, maintain ongoing certification.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and room patients, check height, weight and vitals.
• Review medical history and chief complaints; gather information.
• Perform blood draws, injections, and EKGs.
• Respond to inbasket messages and patient follow-ups.
