Job summary

Upperline Health is seeking a Primary Care Medical Assistant to support patients with high-quality, patient-centered care in a value-based environment. The MA will assist with rooming patients, vitals, history taking, and documentation within the clinic setting.

The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and capable of coordinating care with providers, nurses, and care managers. This on-site role is based in Ontario, CA.

Qualifications

• Certified MA with current license or 2+ years in a medical primary care setting.
• Experience in a primary care / outpatient clinic setting is strongly preferred.
• Certified MA or phlebotomy certification strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, and basic pharmacology.
• Experience using EMR systems, preferably AthenaHealth.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain and document vital signs and medical history.
• Assist provider with health assessments and in-clinic visits.
• Support virtual encounters from the clinic setting.
• Accurately document clinical information in the EHR.
• Perform medication reconciliation and manage prescriptions and refills.
• Coordinate care and support outreach to improve patient outcomes.
