Job summary

Mercy Clinic Primary Care - North Portland is seeking Medical Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses, or EMT/Paramedics for a full-time, 40-hour work week, Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm. The role includes prepping patients for visits, administering vaccines, and supporting in-office testing.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Certification: Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office.
• Active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA) or EMT/Paramedic accepted. Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for visit by completing room process, taking vital signs, reviewing history and allergies, performing medication reconciliation, closing care gaps, rechecking blood pressures and documenting in Epic for yearly preventative visits.
• Assists with in-office testing including drawing blood, mental status exams, EKGs, walking oxygen studies and point-of-care testing.
• Administer vaccines and other injections within scope of practice.
• Schedules follow-up appointments per office policy.
• Collaborates with providers and clinical care team to monitor and coordinate delivery of the care plan.
