Job summary

Care.com is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Pricing and Growth engineering team. You’ll manage a full-stack group of 10 to 12 engineers building systems that decide what families pay, how we package offerings, and how we measure impact on conversion, revenue and retention.

Qualifications

• . 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• . 3+ years leading engineering teams, including large or multiple teams.
• . Track record delivering growth, pricing, monetization, checkout in consumer products.
• . Experience running experiments and using data to guide decisions.
• . Hands-on full-stack skills; Java or Golang; familiarity with AWS/microservices.
• . Experience with billing/payments systems and PCI-DSS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 10-12 FSEs responsible for pricing, packaging, promotions and growth experiences.
• Set technical roadmap for pricing and growth with cross-functional partners; tie priorities to business outcomes.
• Present strategy, progress and results to executives, including tradeoffs and ROI.
• Stay hands-on: review code and designs, help debug production issues, contribute when needed.
• Build and run experimentation with A/B testing, feature flags, metrics and guardrails.
• Design and maintain services for pricing rules, plans, discounts and promotions with billing systems.
• Partner with Finance and Compliance to meet regulatory and reporting requirements.
• Work with architects to move core pricing to an event-driven architecture.
• Champion observability, testing, performance, scalability and security.
• Recruit, mentor and develop engineers; foster ownership and collaboration.
• Oversee on-call practices, SLAs and incident management.
