Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in Marlborough, MA is seeking a Pricing Analyst to support pricing strategies and profitable growth. You’ll analyze pricing trends, monitor competitor activity, and manage category performance to drive value and competitive positioning.

The ideal candidate combines analytical rigor with timely pricing execution and collaboration across Merchandising and Finance. This is a hybrid in‑office/remote role at the Club Support Center in Marlborough.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience in pricing or analytics.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate data into recommendations.
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with SQL/BI tools is preferred.

Position Summary

The Pricing Analyst supports the development and execution of pricing strategies that drive profitable growth while maintaining a competitive position in the retail marketplace. This role is responsible for analyzing pricing trends, monitoring competitor activity, managing category performance, and executing pricing decisions. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and able to balance data analysis with timely pricing execution while collaborating closely with Merchandising and other cross-functional partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage assigned categories by monitoring pricing, margin performance, and competitive positioning


• Develop data-driven pricing recommendations that balance competitiveness, profitability, and value.


• Execute pricing changes accurately while ensuring alignment against pricing operational targets


• Monitor category margins by monitoring financial performance against forecasts and identifying corrective actions to achieve planned goals.


• Evaluate category performance and recommend pricing adjustments to achieve sales, margin, and financial goals


• Evaluate key business metrics to understand category performance and determine which pricing levers can be adjusted to improve results.


• Partner closely with Merchandising, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to support pricing decisions and business initiatives.


• Assess large datasets to identify pricing opportunities, trends, and areas for optimization.


• Ensure pricing strategies are aligned with overall business objectives, revenue targets, and profitability goals.


• Take ownership of ad hoc analyses, special projects, and strategic initiatives as business needs evolve.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of relevant experience


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable recommendations


• Understanding of pricing strategy, margin management, and category financial performance.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, or other business intelligence tools is preferred. Familiarity with SAP is a plus


• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence cross-functional partners and senior leadership.


• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced retail environment.

This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA and Monday and Friday are remote days.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $62,000.00 - $81,500.00
