Job summary

MS Reinsurance in New York seeks a Pricing Analyst to support the pricing actuaries by helping define the requirements and specifications of pricing models, contributing to robust calibration, and assisting with case pricing, rate monitoring and ad hoc claims reserving tasks.

You will work closely with the Pricing team to deliver timely, accurate actuarial input, manipulate and reconcile data, explain drivers behind movements, and help develop and parameterize new pricing models within the

Qualifications

• University degree in math, computer science, physics or similar.
• At least 2 CAS exams passed and progress towards ACAS/FCAS.
• 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with reinsurance pricing preferred.
• Experience working with ISO/Verisk data products preferred.
• Strong quantitative analytical skills.
• Strong IT skills with Excel, VBA and SQL desirable.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools and programming desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver timely and accurate actuarial input that informs underwriting and financial targets.
• Data manipulation and reconciliation; explain large or unusual claim movements.
• Produce draft pricing results with drivers and material movements explained.
• Review and validate rate change calculations within the pricing framework.
• Develop understanding of pricing models to aid future development.
• Parameterize and develop new pricing models within the framework.
• Assist in producing and validating portfolio pricing statistics.
• Collaborate with the pricing and actuarial team on approaches and analyses.
• Assist with other pricing team activities.
