Job summary

Milliman’s New York Property and Casualty practice is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to perform data prep, modeling, and reporting for client engagements. The role emphasizes pricing experience, independent workload management, and progression toward actuarial credentials.

The ideal candidate will review data for accuracy, draft exhibits and reports, and present findings to project teams and client managers, while advancing in the Casualty Actuarial Society exams.

Qualifications

  • Completed bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, data science, statistics, or other quantitative major.
  • Two or more actuarial exams passed (at time of application).
  • 1–4 years of professional actuarial experience, including internship experience.
  • Experience supporting commercial lines pricing and product development, including rate indications and loss cost multiplier estimation.
  • Familiarity with ISO loss costs, rating plans, ILFs, size‑of‑risk curves, and related pricing concepts; familiarity with rate filing processes.
  • Strong technical skill in Excel.
  • Experience managing data and automating complex data manipulation tasks in R, SQL, SAS or other programming languages.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze data and prepare analyses for client work.
  • Check data for errors and consistency; draft reports and maintain documentation.
  • Present findings to peers, project managers, and client relationship managers.
