Job summary

Hiab USA is seeking a skilled field service technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on Hiab equipment at customer sites in line with district instructions.

You will inspect and service forklifts, cranes, loaders and related equipment, maintain records, and stay current with technical bulletins and courses while promoting a positive Hiab image.

Qualifications

• 1+ years mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical experience.
• Appropriate diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, report findings, initiate quotes, and conduct service or repair on forklifts, knuckle boom cranes, loaders, liftgates, hooklifts, skiploaders, and hoists as instructed.
• Keep adequate records and maintain documentation.
• Stay up to date with technical developments via internal bulletins and courses.
• Follow safety rules, working practices and environmental requirements.
• Promote Hiab brand positively and follow the Quality System.
• Recognize sales opportunities and communicate to the District Service Manager.

Your mission

To perform preventive maintenance service, preventive maintenance inspections, safety checks, and minor corrective actions on equipment at external or Hiab locations in line with Managers instructions. Responsible for contributing to productive customer relationships, as well as following Best Practices in all administrative and technical activities.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, report findings, initiate quote based on findings, and then conduct service or repair on equipment, such as Forklifts, Knuckle Boom Cranes, Loaders, Liftgates, Hooklifts, Skiploaders and Hoists, as instructed by District Service Manager
• Keep adequate records and maintain documentation in line with agreed standards
• Staying up to date with technical developments as shown in internal service bulletins and following technical courses when instructed by District Service Manager applicable to equipment
• Follow applicable safety rules, agreed working practices and environmental requirements
• Conduct self at all times in a way that promotes a positive image of the Hiab brand and follow rules of the Quality System
• Recognize sales opportunities and communicate to District Service Manager

What we are looking for

• Ability to obtain and maintain a 1-year DOT Medical Card is required for this position
• Valid Drivers License is required
• No more than one moving violation in the last year, or two violations within a two year time frame. All violations will be reviewed.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required
• 1+ years mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical experience
• Appropriate diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
