Job summary

Meiji America is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance on all production equipment, following applicable PM task lists. You will read mechanical schematics and manuals, interpret PM work orders, and participate in improving PM task lists, while maintaining GMP-compliant, clean and safe work areas.

The role requires teamwork and independence, basic hand and power tool skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with the maintenance team and plant

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Formal technical training or industrial maintenance experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Dismantle and reassemble equipment for PM tasks.
  • Read mechanical schematics and blueprints; follow manuals.
  • Interpret PM work orders and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Suggest improvements to PM task lists.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks and look for defects or issues.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area.
  • Comply with GMP requirements.
  • Adhere to company policies and practices.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Job description

Summary:

The primary function of a Preventative Maintenance Technician is to complete preventative maintenance on all production equipment, following applicable preventative maintenance task lists.

Essential Functions:
  • Capable of dismantling equipment as necessary for completion of preventative maintenance tasks and reassembling same without supervision.
  • Able to develop the skills needed to read mechanical schematics and blueprints; follow directions from manuals.
  • Able to interpret PM work orders and complete them in a timely manner.
  • Willing to make suggestions on improvements or additions to PM task lists.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks and look for defects or potential issues and correct them as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area at all times.
  • Comply with all GMP requirements.
  • Adhere/comply with all Company policies, procedures and practices.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Works well with others, fostering a team atmosphere.
  • Basic experience with hand tools.
  • Able to develop proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools and manual repair equipment.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to read and record written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must be willing and able to maintain open, effective communication with team members as well as departmental and plant leadership.
Education:
  • High School or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a formal technical training program or experience in an industrial maintenance role a plus.
