Job summary

This position supports production teams with issues affecting OEE and involves routine equipment upkeep, documentation, and tool usage in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years mechanical experience.
  • Operational knowledge of tool room equipment.
  • Experience with standard hand tools.
  • Able to work independently with strong technical knowledge and good communication.
  • Capable of functioning in a fast-paced environment with safety standards.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in stopping and correcting unsafe conditions and behaviors.
  • Demonstrate daily improvement efforts (5S and autonomous maintenance).
  • Maintain quality by Doing the right thing for customers.
  • Resolve problems daily as part of a team.
  • Assist in breaks as needed and keep records updated.
  • Maintain records and documentation.
  • Perform routine maintenance and use detailed drawings and instructions.
  • Utilize tool room equipment (grinders, drills, etc.).
  • Use maintenance software to create work orders and track parts usage.
  • Support Production and Supervisors with issues impacting OEE.
  • Handle other projects and tasks as assigned.

General Description

The Preventive Maintenance Technician has direct involvement with repair of machines, repair of parts, preventative maintenance of equipment and cleaning of machines.

The technician is responsible for preventative maintenance to complete tasks are completed thoroughly, accurately and on time. They will also work with maintenance personnel as needed assisting in maintenance repairs

Because the Process Maintenance Technician has specialized knowledge and expertise, they must be willing to mentor and assist in training others.

Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in stopping and correcting unsafe conditions and behaviors.
  • Demonstrate daily evidence of continuous improvement efforts of 5S and autonomous maintenance.
  • Treat quality as a key pillar of our success by always Doing the right thing for our customers.
  • Solve problems daily by working together as an engaged team member
  • Help in the relief of breaks as needed
  • Maintain records and documentation
  • Routine maintenance of equipment and accessories including cleaning, reassembles of equipment as needed utilizing detailed engineering drawings, work instructions, sketches and verbal instructions
  • Use various types of tool room equipment such as grinders, drills, hammer drills, etc.
  • Utilize maintenance software to create work orders, issue out spare parts and keep accurate records of tasks, and parts usage.
  • Support Production Associates and Supervisors with issues that may arise that directly impact OEE.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Experience
  • 2+ years working in a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years mechanical experience
  • Operational knowledge of tool room equipment
  • Experience with standard hand tools
  • Ability to work independently demonstrating strong technical knowledge and good communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and safety standards
  • Sound communication skills and excellent problem-solving ability
  • Possess skills required to improvise and adapt where needed
Education
  • Associates Degree or High School Diploma preferred
  • Relevant experience required
Physical Requirement
  • The ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and move around a warehouse environment.
  • This position requires walking, sitting, or standing to a significant degree and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and frequently lifting less than 10.
