Job summary

Mikart, Inc. in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Production Maintenance Mechanic who supports safe, reliable operation of oral dosage manufacturing equipment.

This role is tiered by accountability and knowledge, with progression through three levels under the Production Maintenance and Engineering Team Leader. You will participate in changeovers, maintain parts inventory, troubleshoot, document work orders, and assist in installation and retrofit of equipment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and five years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with good troubleshooting skills and a knowledge of various shop machinery.
  • Ability to work cross-departmentally with good communication skills.
  • Understand procedures, schematics, and P&ID's
  • Fluency in the English language is required.
  • Must be able to work 2nd shift schedule 3:00pm-11:30pm
  • Overtime as required

Responsibilities

  • Participate in equipment changeover and set up as required.
  • Maintain inventory of necessary replacement parts to decrease machine downtime.
  • Research, request, and/or purchase of components and/or equipment
  • Performs maintenance activities as required in a safe, clean and efficient manner
  • Perform all duties in accordance with applicable SOP’s, cGMP, and safety.
  • Completes required paperwork and documentation, work orders and cGMP documents in a clear, accurate and timely manner
  • Assists in installation and retrofit of equipment (Including qualification activities)
  • Ensures Maintenance Team Leadership is informed of all developments on a routine basis
  • Troubleshoots equipment as necessary, working with equipment owners, engineers and equipment vendors
  • Involved in developing solutions for equipment issues
  • Provides hands‑on assistance to manufacturing processes
  • Assist Maintenance Management in all area as directed

Education

The Production Maintenance Mechanic role is tiered into three (3) levels depending on the increased level of accountability and knowledge that the individual undertakes for the company. All Production Maintenance Technicians perform tasks to ensure the safe, reliable operation of oral dosage manufacturing equipment. The Production Maintenance Mechanic reports directly to Production Maintenance and Engineering Team Leader.

The employee will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment for specific job duties to be performed. Such personal protective equipment may include, but not limited to: safety eyewear, various types of respirators/breathing apparatus, lab coats, full protective body coverings, various types of gloves, etc.
