Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a preventive maintenance technician in Farmingdale, NY to service the latest fleet and keep customers on the road. The role focuses on preventive maintenance for Ford and GMC trucks, with hands-on training and a path for career growth within the U-Haul family.

You will work on-site, use U-Haul’s proprietary tools, and participate in ongoing technician development programs, including Ford and GMC training. A paid hands-on interview and a $100 hiring bonus are available.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical aptitude and repair experience required
• Driver's license required
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently
• Basic computer skills required
• Regular attendance is expected

Responsibilities

• Secure trucks on lifts and ramps.
• Lubricate suspensions, perform oil changes and replace minor parts.
• Perform tire and brake maintenance.
• Occasionally road-test vehicles.
• Use proprietary electronic pre-inspection checklist.
• Lend assistance in additional areas as needed
