Job summary

Walmart Transportation is seeking a Service Shop Preventative Maintenance Technician in Laurens, SC to keep our fleet safe and road-ready. You’ll perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on trailers, tractors, and shop vehicles while following DOT guidelines and company policies.

The role offers a full-time schedule with potential for varied shifts and a focus on quality workmanship. You’ll create work orders, document progress, and communicate status clearly.

Qualifications

• Experience performing preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on trailers/tractors or similar heavy equipment.
• Working knowledge of brake systems (air/ABS/disc) and tire service.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic to intermediate inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and replacements on Walmart equipment (trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, service vehicles)
• Create and process work orders; assess needs, identify parts, and select repair solutions
• Repair/replace brake components, wheel seals, and tractor‑trailer tires per DOT requirements
• Communicate updates and complete required logs, records, and computer‑based documentation
• Receive fuel drops, monitor safety compliance, and collect/prepare fuel samples and paperwork
