Job summary

The General Hospital Corporation seeks a maintenance technician to perform routine preventive maintenance on operating mechanical equipment and respond to emergency calls on site at 600 Main Street.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance on automatic/roll-up/fire doors, laundry chutes, assisting with new door installations, repairing kitchen equipment and carts, and following ICRA/ILSM guidelines. Snow removal is also required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma Related Field of Study required
• Related experience 3-5 years required
• NFPA Hot Work Certification required

• May be required to assist other trades as needed.
• Responsible for snow removal as needed.

Job Summary

Performs routine preventive maintenance (PM) on operating mechanical equipment throughout the Hospital. Provides information for the P.M. program. Responds to emergency calls. Responsible for snow removal as needed.

• Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders and walk almost constantly. Occasionally required to work in confined areas.
• Interpersonal skills to exchange information with other shop’s personnel about work needed, to provide on-the-job training and to conduct formal skill-building training classes.
• NFPA Hot Work Certification required.
