Job summary

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years experience in hospital/healthcare cleaning operations preferred.
  • 2-3 years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of municipal gov admin, solid waste regulations and budgets.

  • Establishs standards and work procedures for housekeeping staff per hospital policies.
  • Plans work schedules and assigns staff, hours, and areas to ensure coverage.
  • Trains, supervises, and evaluates housekeeping personnel.
  • Inspects facilities and recommends repairs, updates, relocations to improve sanitation and efficiency.
  • Identifies unsafe conditions and reports them.
  • Researches and recommends new housekeeping equipment and supplies.
  • Prepares budgets, reports, and other admin documentation.
  • Maintains inventory and coordinates procurement of items.

Job Summary

Supervises and administers the housekeeping program to ensure the hospital environment is maintained in a sanitary, safe, attractive, and orderly condition.

Essential Functions
  • Establishes standards and work procedures for housekeeping staff in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Plans work schedules and assigns staff, hours, and work areas to ensure adequate coverage throughout the hospital.
  • Trains, supervises, and evaluates housekeeping personnel.
  • Conducts inspections of hospital facilities and recommends repairs, painting, furnishing updates, equipment relocation, and space reallocation to improve sanitation, appearance, and operational efficiency.
  • Identifies and reports unsafe conditions and follows up as appropriate.
  • Researches, evaluates, and recommends new housekeeping equipment and supplies.
  • Prepares budgets, reports, and other administrative documentation.
  • Maintains inventory of housekeeping supplies and equipment and coordinates the procurement of new or replacement items.

Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study preferred

Experience

Experience working with the cleaning equipment and chemicals used in hospitals and healthcare centers 5-7 years preferred and Experience in a supervisory role 2-3 years preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of municipal government administration, operations, and management; methods and techniques of research and report presentation.
  • Knowledge of State and federally mandated laws, guidelines, and regulations regarding solid waste management.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical and numerical information.
  • Ability to observe and solve operational and technical problems.
  • Ability to develop policies and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex rules and procedures; research, analyze, and recommend solutions to administrative and other management problems.
  • Ability to analyze budgets, reports, and various proposals.
  • Ability to determine an effective method of research.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.
