The PM Technician is responsible for performing scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and inspections on a variety of vehicles to ensure their optimal functionality and longevity. The role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on various types of vehicles, including buses, vans, and sedans.
  • Perform oil changes, tire rotations, fluid level checks, and replacements as part of scheduled maintenance.
  • Inspect brakes, suspensions, lighting, and electrical systems for wear or malfunction.
  • Identify and report any safety concerns, potential issues, or necessary repairs.
  • Document all work performed using fleet maintenance software and ensure accurate service records.
  • Replace minor components such as air filters, belts, hoses, and batteries.
  • Ensure all vehicles meet DOT (Department of Transportation) and company compliance requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and OSHA guidelines at all times.
  • Support the maintenance team during major repairs or emergency breakdowns as needed.
Requirements

Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, and electrical components.

  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and transportation industry standards.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Basic computer skills to log maintenance activities in fleet management systems.
