Job summary

The Commonwealth of Kentucky invites applications for the Pretrial Services Specialist-SHIFT within the Administrative Office of the Courts in Hopkinsville. The role reviews arrested individuals to determine pretrial release eligibility, conducts interviews, and coordinates with judges and agencies.

It requires an associate degree and criminal justice experience. Shifts may include second, third, weekend, or rotating schedules.

Qualifications

• At least two (2) years’ experience working with or within criminal justice, judicial and/or legal systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial interview of defendant within 24 hours of jail booking, to include receiving arresting documents and contacting judges for bond information.
• Review defendant’s case history and risk assessment scores to determine eligibility for pretrial release.
• Pretrial Administrative Release and to make recommendations to trial courts for pretrial release with supervision and diversion.
• Supervise defendants on Monitored Release through check-ins and being present for drug testing.
• Monitor adherence to court-ordered programs and community provider requirements.
• Submit detailed written reports to the appropriate entities.
