Job summary

The Second Judicial District Court invites applications for a full-time Pretrial Services Officer 1 in Albuquerque, NM. The role involves acting under supervision to assist with criminal background investigations and manage a caseload of individuals charged with felonies, ensuring compliance and contributing to public safety.

Responsibilities include preparing for court hearings, producing reports, and coordinating with community services.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice, social sciences or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: One (1) year experience in criminal justice, social services, probation, corrections or related field.
• Education Substitution: Four (4) years’ of directly related or relevant experience may substitute on a year for year basis.
• Must obtain and maintain National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification within six (6) months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with, monitors, supports and supervises a dynamic caseload of individuals with felony criminal charges.
• Assist with ensuring appropriate-level supervision practices to maximize court appearance and public safety.
• Prepare for and represent the Pretrial Services Program in scheduled criminal court hearings regarding assigned clients.
• Produce timely and accurate compliance and noncompliance reports to court and communicate regularly with coworkers, court parties, and program participants.
