Job summary

The 11th Judicial District Court in Gallup, NM, seeks a full-time Pretrial Services Officer 1 to support the Pretrial Services Program in McKinley County. Under supervision, you will assist with criminal background investigations, implement release and case management plans, and monitor defendants for compliance with court orders.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related field, NCIC certification within six months, and one year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice, social sciences or a related field.
• 1 year experience in criminal justice, social services, probation or related field.
• Must obtain NCIC certification within six months of hire.
• Four years of related experience may substitute for education.

Responsibilities

• Assist with criminal background investigations for arrested individuals prior to adjudication.
• Implement release and case management plans for defendants.
• Supervise compliance with court-ordered programs and release conditions.
• Document needs for community support services and verify information.
• Provide recommendations for treatment and referrals.
• Monitor compliance using electronic monitoring where applicable.
• Maintain case files and participate in court staff meetings.
• Perform site visits to monitor program compliance and safety.
